Journeyman ceiling light
In 2012 in Co. Kilkenny, a truly almighty oak tree succumbed to old age. Most of it was used to make into barrels for the local distillery and luckily for us we managed to salvage the magnificent pieces that didn't make the grade. We thought it appropriate to name this "The Journeyman" given that like these craftsmen, this timber has served its apprenticeship - even though it didn't quite make it to being a barrel - we think it has found its true calling.
The oak timber beam is approx a metre long and 10 cms x 5 cms deep and has 3 vintage style caged LED bulbs suspended from it with cream coloured round, natural hemp rope or chain. The timber beam hangs approx 30cms from the ceiling from two vintage style brass ceiling plates suspended also by cream coloured round, natural hemp rope or chain. The entire piece hangs approx 50cms from the ceiling.
As these are made to order, they can be adjusted to suit your particular requirements for example with glass shades, larger bulbs, longer beam or additional drops. Please contact us to discuss. Prices start at €465.
Each lamp is unique, the colour, grain and finish of the wood will vary from lamp to lamp. All our lamps are made by hand in our studio in Rathnew, Co. Wicklow and each comes with a handwritten label describing its provenance.
Prices are inclusive of VAT and bulbs are included.
