Our Bulbs
Our bulbs are an integral part of our designs and we specifically design and choose each bulb to complement the lamp. We do not sell bulbs as an item on their own, however, should you ever need a replacement bulb we always have these available. You will find a detailed description of each bulb in the product description of each lamp or light which includes the bulb colour, shape and dimensions. For general information about our bulbs please read on to find out more. Our bulbs come with a 3 year warranty against manufacturing defects in which case we are happy to replace free of charge.

What type of bulbs do you use?
All of our bulbs are light emitting diode (LED) bulbs, with an amber tint and low lumen meaning that they give a beautiful warm glow. We design and use some of the best performing bulbs on the planet. With an expected lifespan of 30,000 hours or approx 10 years this makes them much more environmentally friendly than traditional tungsten bulbs. Our bulbs are generally all E27, 230 volt (screw-in fitting) with the exception of any lamps designed for the North American market.
How long do bulbs last?
All of our bulbs are long-life LED which have an average lifespan of 30,000 hours/10 years. That works out at approximately 3 hours a day for 30 years. We guarantee our bulbs against manufacturing defects for 3 years.
How bright are your bulbs?
The technical term is lumen but most people just want to know "how bright is it" or "can I read under it"? Our bulbs are generally 3/4 watts and average around 160-200 lumen which is similar to an old school 40 watt Tungsten bulb (for comparison, an LED kitchen spotlight is around 600 lumen). Our lights are not designed as task lighting (think office lighting) but as atmospheric lighting. That said, we use them ourselves for bedtime reading.
What colour are your bulbs?
All of our bulbs have a dyed filament and dyed glass which gives them a beautiful warm glow, similar to the glow you get from candlelight. The majority of our bulbs are amber tinted, however, some designs may feature our smoked bulbs which have a beautiful smoky grey tint and we also offer a range of coloured bulbs available with some of our pendants.
What types of bulbs do you have?
We design and source our own range of bulbs. All of our bulbs are filament LEDs and they come in a range of sizes and designs. Read our bulb chart for help understanding the different styles, shapes and sizes.
What happens if my bulb breaks?
Our bulbs have a long lifespan, they are shipped worldwide and are surprisingly robust, however accidents do happen. If a bulb breaks in transit we are happy to replace it for free once we are notified within 24 hours of delivery. Should you, your dog or your child break a bulb we can replace it. Just send us an email including a photo of your lamp or light with details of where and when you purchased it and we will ship you a replacement bulb at cost (typically €20-€60 depending on the bulb) plus delivery by courier (typically €10 in Ireland, please contact us for prices for outside Ireland). While many of our bulbs are designed specifically for us, you may be able find similar style bulbs in retailers or online.
